Kids on the Yard Small Group learning fosters an environment that meets every student’s individual needs.
Many schools and parents need the support of quality educators for learning needs and special education students during school hours. Students and specialists engage in the regular classroom interaction and then separate into a particular area to review instruction from class. In some cases, the educator will use the same material from class and modify it to the small group of student-specific needs. Small group instruction provides instructional support, differentiated instruction, and services in the areas of instruction, behavior, and communication. In addition to working closely with students in general education settings, specialists also close the learning gaps of their students in small groups.

What is Small Group Peer-Based Instruction?
Small group instruction reinforces skills for students learned throughout the week and closes learning gaps in age-appropriate peer groups. Small group instruction provides opportunities for flexible and differentiated learning.
Small group instruction in literacy, math, and writing benefits students tremendously, making learning from their beloved teacher and peers more enjoyable. It’s incredibly collaborative, allows for differentiation and individualized instruction, and increases interest from your students. Unfortunately, in today’s complex education world, educators can not use small group instruction in their primary classroom in optimal ways.
